Growing up in a family of dog lovers, I was introduced to training at a young age. However, it wasn’t until I saw an instructor’s remarkable bond with her dog at age 8 that I fell in love with dog training. I was inspired to replicate that connection with my own dog and began my journey. I’ve since owned, trained, and worked with various breeds, including Poodles, Chinese Cresteds, and Westies. I’ve trained under renowned trainers and dedicated myself to helping others build strong relationships with their dogs based on trust, respect, and understanding. With a lifelong passion for dog training, I empower owners with the knowledge and skills to foster a deeper connection with their pets.
Basic Obedience is a structured training class for training basic commands and to work on these commands with distraction (other people and their dogs in the class), focus work, and socializing your dog too. We use a combination of positive reinforcement and balance training techniques to teach our dogs the fundamentals. Just like humans, each dog is an individual. We like to have every option in the tool kit available to help dogs be the best they can be. Through this training, you will strengthen your bond with your dog and establish yourself as the leader while making you and your dog a Team. Once the class is complete, your dog will receive the Canine Good Citizen titl!
This program is designed to get puppies and their owners off to a great start. This program requires that owners attend a training course with their puppies. All puppies need the necessary components of the program including Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible owner. This program is an owner incentive program design to get owners to attend a training class with their puppies. The trainer must be an AKC S.T.A.R. evaluator and at the conclusion of this course the puppy will receive an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program Certificate once he/she has passed each milestone/test. Some of the test items will be observed and scored during the course and others will be administered at the end of the course.
Goals of the program include providing socialization to puppies, basic training, teaching owners about the appropriate amount of exercise (or activity) for their puppy, teaching owners how to be responsible dog owners. This program is a noncompetitive activity that is open to all puppies including pure breeds and mixed breeds. Once your puppy has passed all of the items on the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Test he/she will be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Records.
Intermediate Obedience is a structured training class for dogs that have completed a Basic or Novice Obedience Class. The owner and dog will work together as a team. You will take the commands learned and put it to work with you and your dog. We work on heeling, recalls, long sit & down stays, stand stays and focus work. We also cover all the necessary training for preparing for the Advanced Canine Good Citizen Test. It's a great class for those of you that are interested in getting your dog into Therapy work or Obedience Trials.
All K9 Kampus training classes are held in the comfort of our indoor facility (with the exception of our tracking class). You will enjoy class in our climate controlled environment without the worry of the heat, humidity, rain, mud or bugs!
Our Basic Agility classes are held with a maximum of 8 participants to ensure everyone receives a lot of equipment time. K9 Kampus breaks down basic agility into three separate classes: 1. Jumps & Tunnels, 2. Contacts, 3. Weaves.
Pre-requisite for Basic Agility is Basic Obedience (preferably K9 Kampus basic Obedience class). Completion of Basic Obedience class at another facility is acceptable but may need instructor approval.
Once you have completed the three basic classes, you can continue on with our Intermediate classes. After completing our 3 basic classes and 1 intermediate class, you will receive a discount on continuing Intermediate and Advanced classes.
All our classes are taught to AKC standards so whether you are participating in agility for competition or just as a fun activity to do with your dog you will be learning all you need to know.
